I’ve known Nick for over 20 years, as I just did the math. I’ve been close friends, roommates and worked with his brother; it was Steve who introduced and gave me the opportunity in photography. Through those years I’ve come to know the family well and have missed them, as the past few years we haven’t been involved like we once were. When Nick asked if I was interested in photographing his wedding, I was honored. I looked forward to the celebration and the moment little Nicky became a husband. I’ve come to admire Nick as a man, from his work ethic, artistic abilities and strong morals. I just never thought I’d see him get married. Meeting and spending just a little bit of time with Chrissy- I see why he decide it’s time. Beyond her obvious beauty, she’s funny, relaxed and cool as hell. Her laugh is infectious and it’s obvious she adores her family (including Nick’s) and her man. They kept things pretty simple and relaxed, but personal and classy. We started at Sea Isle City, New Jersey and they hosted their ceremony and wedding at Everly at Railroad in Woodbine/Tuckahoe, NJ. The rustic setting, lined with railcars was a perfect canvas for their ceremony and photos.
I had a smile plastered on my face as I saw familiar and friendly faces, watched Nick shed tears with his family and wife and see how much Chrissy adores her friends and family as she toasted, hugged, cried and killed it on the dance floor with them.
As wedding photographers we’re lucky to be wallflowers and in cases like this- it truly is an honor.
