I am currently living in the same house my grandparents lived in as when I was growing up. My childhood best friend, Mike, lived next door. Since my family moved to NJ, and there was no Facebook back then, we just eventually lost touch- only seeing each other very randomly while he visited his parents at the same time I visited my grandparents.
One of the best aspects of now living in that same old house is that I’ve been able to re-connect with Mike. His parents still living the next house over, while he lives about 10-15 min away. I caught him on a visit to his parent’s and asked if he and his family (Kristen & Travis) would be into doing a photo shoot in my backyard. Kristen about to give birth to their 2nd child, the playfulness of Travis, the vibrant color and abundant amount of leaves; mixed with the odd (but cool!) realization that Mike and I were once again playing in the same backyard we did as kids– created a great recipe towards a successful {impromptu} session.
I wanted to capture the family enjoying the fall leaves with all of the different elements that their family and the environment offered. There was great energy as mom & dad tossed leaves at Travis- making him wide eyed and playful. It was really cool to see childhood best friend as a father and a husband. He was awesome with Travis and tender towards Kristen. It was an honoring realization. These are some of my favorites:

Kelley and Shawn are former wedding clients that have become friends. They invited me to their home to photograph their first born- Penelope. 11 days old, just over 6lbs and adorable as can be- she made a great subject! I didn’t want these images to be the “cheese, everyone look at the camera” style. I wanted them mostly to be a documentation of a friend being invited into a family’s home- to capture the glow of being parents for the first time. Images that will remind the family of those feelings years from now. I knew Shawn & Kelley trusted me to capture “them” and that makes it so much more personal and true. The following images are some of my favorites. All images courtesy of Intrigue Photography

For some time, I had a week blocked off in late August for vacation. That week was quickly approaching and my plans were only vague ideas. I simply knew I wanted to go somewhere with no schedule or agenda. Some place new would also be a plus. So, on Tuesday I booked my flight, Wednesday my hotel and Saturday I took off for Seattle. I got lucky with my hotel selection, as far as location and view of the city. The weather was perfect and all of the city’s weekend activities were conveniently local to my hotel. Within the first few hours of my arrival I had accomplished my vacation mission: to relax, avoid scheduling and enjoying the streets with my camera. The remaining time was bonus. I fell in love with Seattle’s architecture. I found some great spots to eat, spent a few hours in Pike’s Place market and even wandered in to Seattle’s Hempfest. After the weekend, I took a train to Portland to visit my cousin and husband. I’ve been anxious to visit Portland, since I’ve only heard “Jeff, you would love it!” from all familiar with the city. Anna and David were gracious hosts and allowed the balance of spending time with them and spending time exploring on my own. The city, undoubtably, is hip. Great food, drinks, arcades, movie theaters, book stores…. I can definitely see the appeal. I was fortunate enough to get perfect weather in Portland, as well. The vacation was quick, but completely satisfying. Here are some images from both cities:

A few months back I posted Jen and Joel’s engagement session images, stating I couldn’t wait for their big day. Well, the day quickly arrived and seemed to play out just as planned. Joel was in high spirits and full of smiles and Jen was nice and comfy around her bridesmaids and family. The Merion was a great venue to host their party and we got lucky with a pleasant summer day. Below are some of my favorite images from the day. All images courtesy of Intrigue Photography:

I’ve known Deb since I worked at her family’s peach packing farm/plant, when I was still in high school. Her wedding is next week! We met at their place in center city, Philadelphia. I had a chance to get to know Greg a bit and even win over ol’ Blue prior to our session. We wondered the gorgeous neighborhood a bit and played in the park with the pooch. It was great practice for their wedding! Even a bit more unique was that the next day I photographed Deb’s sister, Lisa’s, wedding! I always enjoy being around the DeEugenio family and I look forward to the final sibling wedding next week. Bitter sweet. Few years back I worked with a fun group of people at the Pine Hill Country Club (now Trump National Philadelphia). Over the past few years I’ve been fortunate enough to stay in touch with many of those people and in some cases photograph their weddings. Christi was a blast to work with and even more fun on her wedding day! I was a tad nervous leading up to their day, as I knew that Christi and Len had a lot going on between the wedding plans, moving back into the state, settling into their jobs and purchasing a house. I was afraid that all of this stress would tighten them up a bit on their wedding day and in turn, show in the photos. Boy was I wrong! Dead wrong! From the moment I walked in the door Christi was a ball of fun and Len was as laid back as…being at the beach on a perfect day. It was hard to trim down to a few favorites, so following are some of the images that Christi and Len chose for their wedding album. Thanks to Christi and Len for a great day, along with Jamie & Katie for creating a great trio of weddings! Images courtesy of Intrigue Photography

I can’t believe it’s March 2010 already! Insane how quickly time will pass when you’re having fun. This set of images is still part of me “catching up”.
Jeff and Lauren were married in the fall of 2009 at the Sea Oaks Country Club. They had the perfect fall day! As you can see from the images, it was easy taking photos of them. They are a fun, easy going couple and it helps that they are great looking peeps. I have played basketball with Jeff and his dad over the past few years, so it was an honor to photograph their day. It was a pleasure to get to know Jeff and Lauren, along with their families, even more through the entire process (engagement session, planning, wedding and album design). I’m looking forward to their final product! Here are a few that I selected from their wedding day:

Usually, January is a slower time for photographers. Not the case this year for me. No complaints here. I simply slacked on posting here. But, I am hoping to catch up a bit and this first post is exactly that. It’s a random mix of images- but all that I have taken within the past month. No theme- just some favs. I plan on posting the rest in the next few days. Spread them out for ya…

Briane Morse, the owner of Essence Photography, hired me to photograph Lauren & Joe’s wedding. We had one of those off & on rainy fall days, that we seemed to have every Saturday this fall. But, the couple had such good planning that we were able to combat the rain and still come away with some images out at Knights Park in Collingswood. Here are some of my favorites from the day:
