Jen & Joel tie the knot

A few months back I posted Jen and Joel’s engagement session images, stating I couldn’t wait for their big day. Well, the day quickly arrived and seemed to play out just as planned. Joel was in high spirits and full of smiles and Jen was nice and comfy around her bridesmaids and family. The Merion was a great venue to host their party and we got lucky with a pleasant summer day. Deb & Greg (and Blue!)

I’ve known Deb since I worked at her family’s peach packing farm/plant, when I was still in high school. Her wedding is next week! We met at their place in center city, Philadelphia. I had a chance to get to know Greg a bit and even win over ol’ Blue prior to our session. We wondered the gorgeous neighborhood a bit and played in the park with the pooch. It was great practice for their wedding! Even a bit more unique was that the next day I photographed Deb’s sister, Lisa’s, wedding! I always enjoy being around the DeEugenio family and I look forward to the final sibling wedding next week. Bitter sweet. Christi & Len

Few years back I worked with a fun group of people at the Pine Hill Country Club (now Trump National Philadelphia). Over the past few years I’ve been fortunate enough to stay in touch with many of those people and in some cases photograph their weddings. Christi was a blast to work with and even more fun on her wedding day! I was a tad nervous leading up to their day, as I knew that Christi and Len had a lot going on between the wedding plans, moving back into the state, settling into their jobs and purchasing a house. I was afraid that all of this stress would tighten them up a bit on their wedding day and in turn, show in the photos. Boy was I wrong! Dead wrong! From the moment I walked in the door Christi was a ball of fun and Len was as laid back as…being at the beach on a perfect day. It was hard to trim down to a few favorites, so following are some of the images that Christi and Len chose for their wedding album. Lauren & Jeff

I can’t believe it’s March 2010 already! Insane how quickly time will pass when you’re having fun. This set of images is still part of me “catching up”.

Jeff and Lauren were married in the fall of 2009 at the Sea Oaks Country Club. They had the perfect fall day! As you can see from the images, it was easy taking photos of them. They are a fun, easy going couple and it helps that they are great looking peeps. I have played basketball with Jeff and his dad over the past few years, so it was an honor to photograph their day. It was a pleasure to get to know Jeff and Lauren, along with their families, even more through the entire process (engagement session, planning, wedding and album design). I’m looking forward to their final product! Here are a few that I selected from their wedding day:

Usually, January is a slower time for photographers. Not the case this year for me. No complaints here. I simply slacked on posting here. But, I am hoping to catch up a bit and this first post is exactly that. It’s a random mix of images- but all that I have taken within the past month. Lauren & Joe

Briane Morse, the owner of Essence Photography, hired me to photograph Lauren & Joe’s wedding. We had one of those off & on rainy fall days, that we seemed to have every Saturday this fall. But, the couple had such good planning that we were able to combat the rain and still come away with some images out at Knights Park in Collingswood. Here are some of my favorites from the day:

Julie & Dave

Julie & Dave had a very romantic wedding day. Julie’s family had an old Ford Model T car that was refurbished with all original working parts that was used as their transportation. Dave was super excited the entire day and even got to play drums with the wedding band (which was led by one of the original singers of the Commodores). Julie was also excited with a splash of nervousness. I could see her hands shaking through her veil the first time Steve posed her! Both families were really invested into their day, which made for a close feeling all day. They had their reception at the Merion. It was quite impressive! Steve & Janet

My cousin Steve called me to photograph his wedding a few months back. After discussing some details with he and Janet we decided to find a time to catch up and have some fun “practicing” for the big day. We ended up with a perfect fall day. It’s been some time since I’ve seen Steve or Janet, so it was good to have an excuse to spend some time. The majority of my memories involving Steve are from when I was probably in my early teens. For the past 10-15 years we lived a few states apart and each had things going on. But, at points during photographing him with Janet I saw that little/big kid with a deviant smile, but with a big teddy bear heart. He is the comic relief in the relationship, no doubt. It was good to see him in love. Janet, having experience from the other side of the camera, seemed to be a natural- and is no doubt all about Steve. Here are some of my favorites….

Lisa & Andrew

Lisa & Andrew had a elegant and simple wedding set in Ocean City, NJ. They married at the place they met. The hosting house had the perfect setting: a dock for the ceremony, a deck for the guests to view/sit, plenty of rooms with loads of available light and great landscaping outside. Lisa was so cute and easy going, as we snapped a few images prior to the ceremony. She helped with the final touches, and did so with grace. There were some really emotional moments during the day, as one of the grandfathers was the officiant for the ceremony, Lisa’s grandmom adorned her with a family bracelet that included touches of her late grandfather. While watching Lisa and Andrew look at each other I could tell that their love was new and true. They were so easy to document, because they shared their emotions with all. It was a quick day, but I felt honored to be let in to their lives even if just for a few hours. Everyone was so welcoming and joyful. Jonah Matranga

About 12+ years ago I was working at my mom’s record shop (The Soundwave) and I was becoming a big fan of this band, Far. I was immediately drawn to the lead-singer- the sound of his voice, delivery and lyrics. They were coming to Philly to play the Pontiac Grill on South St (the old JC Dobbs). At the time, Jonah (the lead singer) was posting his journal entries online and creating a community to share his thoughts/posts with others. It became a great way to follow and have contact with one of my newest music crushes (this is long before myface). Being the great mom that she is, my mom contacted Jonah and set up an in-store for the band to play prior to their show that night in Philly. It was amazing! It created a bond that has lasted years through memories, music and friends. Since then, we have often set-up shows for Jonah to play while he’s on the east cost. He’s always been down for house shows, backyard shows, record shops, coffee shops, etc… As long as there are people willing to listen, he’s been willing to play. There have been many memorable shows- too many to even get into here and now. But, recently my friend- Allen, put together a show for him to play at his house in Williamstown, NJ. Jonah was coming off a rough break-up and up against a milestone b-day while on tour. My mom decided to give him a surprise bday cake at the end of the set and it has become one of my favorite recent photos (she’s so proud and he’s so touched and truly happy). My mom set up a show for Jonah that took place last night at the Progressive Coffee Shop in Glassboro, NJ (near Rowan). It was a complete success and a wonderful evening. It brought together old friends, new friends, Jonah fans, music fans, family and lovers. I was busy helping and wasn’t able to capture any images from the night (boo!), but it did inspire me to share some images from the last time Jonah was in town (@ Allen’s house). Here are some of my favorites.
